metadata replace

Hello,

I have loaded many ebooks into Calibre but the tags are empties.
How can i replace all empty tags by a word "roman" by example.
I can replace a word by another but i don't known how define a null value

I have found the solution for "edit metadata" in Calibre.
I must don't work with "search and replace" but with "Base metadata" and take the option ADD TAGS.
