Problem with device time
I have a Oasis 3 and I picked it up this morning for the first time since last Friday. I noticed that the time did adjust for DST (USA) but it fell back an hour instead of forward an hour LOL. It says 6:45am instead of 8:45am (CST). It is set for automatic of course. I set it to manual and put the time correct but thought I would share.

Mine did not update with time change, and I did it in settings. Mine doesn't seem to automatically change most of the time....although it should, but.

I've been seeing this too since the 5.13.5 update. Almost started a post about it but a reboot fixed it. For awhile. Eventually it goes back to Pacific time and a reboot brings it back to Eastern time which is correct for my location.

My Paperwhite did not do the time change. It is on 5.13.4 update. I haven't tried a reboot yet.

My PW3 did not pick up the time shift time before I did Jailbreak. Then, I looked and found the file /var/local/system/tz, which is the file responsible for time zones. I replaced it with the same file from Ubuntu to have proper Dst switch automatically. You can get that file even from "Ubuntu Live CD" flash drive.
If you have Jailbreak, you can do this (and there is a new JB method called KindleBreak, have a look at the first page of the Kindle Developer's Corner forum). |
