Vacuuming the Kobo database
Is there any benefit of using VACUUM on KoboReader.sqlite?

Yes, but, whether it will actually be noticeable is another thing.
It will only be useful if the internal structure has become fragmented. That is most likely to happen if you were adding a removing a lot of books. And the device does a VACUUM at some points (don't ask me when). Any time I have done it recently, it has only recovered a few megabytes of data. There was a time when it could easily recover 50% of the space used, but, Kobo changed some options used for the database and it isn't as noticeable now. Or the VACUUMs it does keep it under control. |
