Print search result as a table plugin?
Hello everyone, thank you again mister kovidgoyal for all the hard work, very much appreciated.
I was cleaning up my works and related documents and came upon a thought that would make my (and probably others) life easier. a plugin to print either as HTML or a table in office or OpenOffice product which would display my current search the way it is represented on the screen, i.e. sort order? I searched a lot on the subject, either through plugin adder within Calibre, google search and forum search. Found nothing easy enough for me to understand. I did find this Save/export/print search results however, I can not use the output nor know how to manipulate it to a final product that I can use. example: Quote:
As a self answering theme, I know that if I save as a .csv I can open it in excel but as the layout and columns displayed in calibre are already laid out the way I like them to be, to be able to print it as is would be nice. There are a variety of free directory printers out there that will do just that, would be great to be able to do it within calibre without having to rely on external third party applications to get the job done. Did you try the Create catalogue tool, you will have to add it to a toolbar or menu, viz:
Best bet would be to save the catalogue as CSV file, IIRC they can be added as a table in most word processors, or via a spreadsheet. BR |

Thank you for the reply BetterRed but it seems that this is the same solution as bringing up the context menu on the "Convert Books" button. But I did add it to the main taskbar anyway as I will use it often enough to offset the clutter.

In the first instance, almost all optional plugins are written by someone who needs them. If they are prepared to maintain and enhance them they publish them, hopefully here.
If all programs did everything everyone wanted the software industry would grind to a halt because everything would be already done To deal with most CSV files, such as those from calibre, I find nirsoft's CSVFileView far more useful than spreadsheet programs like excel, calc, and sheets. With it, I don't have to navigate though a zillion features I don't need to do the simple things I do need. It doesn't do arithmetic, so no FFTs on the publication dates of a fractional library ![]() BR |
