Calibre won't pass cover page

The 64 bit Calibre Viewer in Windows 10 won't pass the cover page. None of the prescribed buttons work and no arrow for turning comes up on the page.

By going to the TOC, I can go to the relevant Ch, but sometimes the only option that displays in the TOC is "Start". Pressing that does nothing.

By going to "Edit book", I can see the information is there, it just can't be viewed.

I have updated to 5.10.1, I have tried "repairing" Calibre, restarted PC, but the problem persists.

Any suggestions?
I have considered uninstalling & reinstalling Calibre, but fear losing my library.

Any help would be much appreciated. TIA.

click on the cover, then press page down.

Thanks! It never occurred to me that I had to click on the cover page before any of the buttons would work.

You shouldnt have to ordinarily. Input focus should be correct at startup, but for some reason on your system it isnt.
