How to transfer pdf and epub annotations from Max2 to MaxLumi?

I'm trying to transfer my books from my Max2 to my MaxLumi without loosing my annotations, and so far it's not working. I looked through the manual for info on this, but didn't find any. What I've tried is to export the annotations on the Max2, and then copy the resulting .txt file with the annotations onto the Lumi. But when I open the file on the Lumi the annotations are not showing up. I've tried putting them in the same folder as the book file (the 'Books' folder), as well as putting them in the 'Note' folder, without success. As far as I can tell, there is no "import" button that would allow me to manually select the .txt file for import. Is there a way to transfer the annotations to the new device?

So is there no way to import highlights from a .txt file into an epub on the MaxLumi? I've tried everything I can think of, nothing has worked. I'm wondering why the device has an export feature but no import feature.

Annotations must reside in a database somewhere. Because a txt file is just a bunch of characters. IIRC there is a separate thread discussing the location of scribbles database on the Lumi.
