Unwanted alternating row colors as from version 5.3

Since I just upgraded my Calibre 5.2 to 5.3, I suddenly get alternating row colors (black/grey) in the main window (and in some other configuration windows as well). I use dark mode.
I find this very disturbing, and even annoying.
Is there a way to either prevent this, or to pick a much darker shade of grey?
I tried the plugin "Job Spy" to no avail.

Dark mode has always had alternating row colors. There was a bug on macOS causing it to be turned off there, but that since been resolved. The Job Spy plugin has a setting to turn it off, otherwise you need to run from source and turn it off yourself.

I just managed to get Job Spy to make it work after all, by setting text color to white and both BG1 and BG2 to black.

By the way, I work on Windows-10.
When I re-install version 5.2 the alternate coloring disappears, and the bug does it job ;-)

On Windows it was all black two, until 5.3. Very nice to see alternating colors again.

On my Windows 10, there was also a glitch with alternating row colours where it was present but not very visible—I had to yank my monitor contrast way up to see it.
