Question Which VNC???

Hi all
Looking at some old threads on here people have been using VNC between Boox and PC using TightVNC on the PC (windows) with Android VNC viewer.

Does anyone have any current experience with this? I'm reluctant to buy software at this point if I'm not sure whether it will work.. so if you can respond with any combination of PC server/Android Boox viewer that has worked for you that would be massively helpful! (and/or any tips, like setting up windows firewall, which I imagine is a hazard!)

thanks in advance!

I like bVNC for the Android VNC viewer - free version is perfectly adequate. The interface is a little cleaner than anything else I've tried.

I'm running Linux on the desktop so I don't have any recommendations for a Windows VNC server... but I thought that last time I tried VNC in Windows (which was probably 10+ years ago) there were plenty of free options.

I think there are also Android RDP clients, and I believe RDP is Microsoft's proprietary remote desktop protocol so it might be built in or more readily available on Windows.

Good luck!

Thanks! In the end I used bVNC on the Onyx Note+ and UltraVNC server on the PC. Its not a great experience.. but it works!

Hi : )

I finally bought my Onyx Nova 2 last week and experimented with different kinds of vnc (tightvnc, remmina, tigervnc and others) always running into problems with settings, firewall, and sharing of mouse and keyboard.

Now I installed Teamviewer and it runs without the need for any special settings or troubles. I enabled the touchpad cursor on ereader and it works pretty well. Lag is still there, especially when moving the pointer of the mouse but it's all right for writing and reading.
