wireless device connection

Was/is the wireless device connection created only for Calibre Companion? Does any other programs use it? I have Content Server down fine, but got curious about the wireless device connection.

I developed the wireless device driver for CC but the protocol is open and usable by anyone. I have helped developers use it. A few apps were published but support for most has gone away. Other than CC the only app that I know is currently actively supporting the WD is koreader. I might be wrong -- there might be others.

It seems that most developers these days are interested in cloud connections.

Thanks Chaley, that's what I thought. I would just like to connect to calibre from IOS and have the on device column show up. I'm not using CC anymore (I do thank you so much for the suburb job you did when you were running it and I do understand why you stopped). I use Marvin for epubs and MapleRead for PDFs. They both do a great job with the Content Server, so I am happy for that.
