Trying to sign in to overdrive on damaged Kobo

Greetings.

My kobo was damaged awhile ago -- part of the screen shows lines and the touchscreen doesn't respond well -- but it still works for reading (especially with firmware adjustments to add margins where the screen is dead).

I'm interested in signing into Overdrive to access materials from my library. When I go to sign in, while using the on-screen keyboard, the keys I'm pressing light up, but most don't get entered into the input field.

I was wondering if there might be a workaround.
- I see that none of the kobos let you plug in a physical keyboard
- I saw mention here of VNC, but it isn't obvious if it lets me view the kobo on my computer and click with the mouse there to drive the unit. If so, that's perfect.
- Maybe I can edit a file on the device (perhaps a sqlite database) to enter in my credentials, and go from there?
- Is it possible to authenticate from my computer (perhaps (sigh) using Adobe Digital Editions)?

Cheers.

Good news. I found my library's guide for using Digital Editions ( http://chinookarch.cantookstation.co...tartup_kobo_pc ) and was able to download an eBook from my library and sync it to my device.

[Overdrive on my Kobo still has no idea what my account is, but given that I can hardly type on the device, it wouldn't be super helpful to browse for books from there, anyway.]

Given that your Kobo's screen is broken, it would be a good idea to buy a new one. You can either buy a new one now or wait for the new forthcoming Kobo to be released and then decide which Kobo you want.
