Wifi problem
I recently changed my wifi router. Now neither my Nova Pro nor my Poke Pro will connect. They both behave the same. They say Connecting to network_name...then Saved, secured with WPA2 PSK, then back to Connecting to network_name...
The Nova is new, but the Poke is old and always connected okay with the old router. Both the old and new router are Linksys. Anyone have ideas how to resolve it? All my other devices (phones, computers, tablets connect without a hitch). |

Is the nova Pro / poke Pro 5ghz capable?
It says 802.11b/g/n on the box. |

Nope, none of that works. If it was just the nova I'd suspect the device, but poke does the same.
This is a pretty bog standard new dual band linksys. Nothing fancy. So I'm surprised no one else has the problem. It is pretty new. I got it a couple weeks ago. |

Neither run on 5GHz (I had both), the Nova 2 does so think future models will too.

Turned off 5 gig, changed modes (b, n, mixed, etc), set connection to static. Nothing works. They connect and disconnect and connect and disconnect... They don't get on with the router.

I'm not connecting many devices. The router works with everything except the two Onyx e-readers.
Yes, I am beginning to wonder if the router is buggy. I wouldn't know how to go about testing it. I have noticed the Echo Show is probably freezing / dropping more than it did before. I'm pretty sure it's a 5ghz device. Under normal circumstances, I'd take the router back, but Bestbuy is closed because of the lockdown. I'll have to look into that. On another note, the Onyx has very few network setting options to play around with compared to an Android tablet or phone. Onyx has really stripped that stuff out. I wonder if it's possible to install a 3rd party app to increase the settings that can be altered, or even a different launcher. |
