HELP, Please, any way to recover info and collection from Kindle Oasis?

Hi, by mistake I reset my kindle oasis 9. It erased everything, all my collections, all my files, everything

Since I don't have a back up 'cause I can't get the collections into calibre I don't know what to do, I'm really desperate

This kindle is kind of my lifeline, my help and support with everything that is going in my life and family, please help me.

I know it might seem like I'm over reacting but I'm really starting to feel faint, I'm not prepared for this. please help

When you reset to factory setting, it empties the device, but you should be able to redownload via the cloud (including collections) on your e-reader. Your collections and books do not delete from a factory reset, they are just removed from the device. When you go to your library, at the top click "All" instead of "downloaded" and the books should show up to re-download.

For collections, click "filter" on the right side of the menu when in your library. Have the setting to "All" instead of downloaded. You can then download collection folders. The books in the collections do not automatically download however, just the sorting into the folders, but once you download both the book in the above directions, and the collections, it will automatically be routed into the same folders again.

Thank you, the big problem here is that I really don't care a lot about the books I have bought from Amazon.

I had over 14 collection from fanfics, and those are the ones that are making me suffer, 'cause since I can't update or create collection from the Oasis I had no way to make a back up of the ones I already had read and was saving and that.

If you use the "Send to Kindle" app to send your fanfics to your kindle, it gives the option to store a copy in the cloud. However, if you didn't do that in the past, then it won't help right now. That doesn't speak to the collections, unless you used the Amazon cloud categorizing feature (folder-ish things, as described above).

Amazon Cloud Collections doesn't sync for USB sideloaded content.

I think the feature needs a proper ASIN for syncing so unless the fanfics are stored on Amazon Cloud via Send/Email to Kindle, this one's a no-go.

Semi-automated collections for USB sideloaded fanfics is why I jailbreak my Kindles.

They don't sync for USB sideloaded, but they do if you use the send to kindle app (or simply email them to your account). You can even add them to (and remove them from) collections on your computer by going to the "Contents and Devices" page in your Amazon account, and it will reflect on your devices. No ASIN needed.

ASIN's probably the incorrect term. Amazon identifier is more accurate. Anything sent to the Kindle cloud gets assigned an Amazon identifier. I expect this identifier is what Amazon uses to store and sync collections and last read position.

I've tried it before and the identifier of the MOBI I sent (regardless if it's old format or dual) is different from the one assigned to it once it's on Amazon's cloud. If I then copy the Kindle cloud downloaded file to other Kindles via USB, collections and reading location get synced.

If you don't deal with a lot of WIP fanfics, consider using Send to Kindle instead of transferring via USB.

That way, any collections/organization you make in future will be stored on Amazon's servers. It will sync reading progress and annotations as well.
