Date columns of different formats - how to copy and paste between them?

I have a column that stores a date as MMM d yyyy. Copying dates from other columns that use this same format works fine.

Sometimes I'd like to copy and paste the values from the Published field, which uses a different format. It fails.

I know I can change the display via the tweaks, but before I do that is there some trick that I missed?

Update: I just used the tweak to temporarily change the display of the Published field until I'm finished what I'm doing.

yyyy-mm-dd is best (sorts work and an International Standard). dd-mm-yyyy is second best. dd-mmm-yyyy is OK too. I've never understood the US using mmm d yyyy or any of the variations.

On filesystems, I like yyyy-mm-dd as it'll actually sort correctly. On Calibre though I prefer being able to see the month name.

Try posting an Enhancement request asking for a way to copy & paste dates between unlike formats, see para 4 ==>> calibre - Bugs.
