Dropbox support on non-Forma
Hi,

I'm an owner of One HD. I read that Kobo added Dropbox support for their Forma. Is there any option to have that same support on my One HD?

Officially? No. They’ve only had it on the Forma. Future models may get it as well only time will tell.

Unofficially? You can try https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=316894 I have not tried this so I can’t say how well it works or if it still works. I assume it does because it’s still getting posts.

Are you maybe thinking of Overdrive support? Because that's on the Libra, as well as the Forma, and I think most of the current line up.

Dropbox is only mentioned on the Forma's page for Kobo

Although Kobo probably wouldn't like it, would it be technically possible to develop a patch to enable dropbox on non-Forma devices?

No, Kobo wouldn't like it. In fact it might start them thinking about locking down the firmware - just like Amazon. Then there would be no patches for anybody and everybody loses.

Even if it was technically feasible it would never be included in the kobopatch system. None of the current patches interfere with Kobo's ability to earn money. This is deliberate, i.e. don't bite the hand that feeds you.
