I have carefully read the manual https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/develop.html

You dont need to use the development environment for the dark theme. Simply set CALIBRE_USE_DARK_PALETTE=1 https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/cus...ment-variables

I did it !!! Put Calibre in dark mode on linux. In a simple way. I have added the calibre icon to the desktop and by right clicking properties appear inside the command box enter this command env CALIBRE_USE_DARK_PALETTE = 1 calibre

Linux Mint 19.3

linux is the only OS that requires it, so no. Linux desktop people should really get their act together and create a system level setting for it.
