No update notice for 4.9.1?
Being one of those ocd types who reflexively updates every time Calibre tells me there's a newer version, I'm a little curious as to why I have not received any notification regarding the availability of 4.9.1? I've been getting by with the quite LUDICROUSLY antiquated 4.9.0, unaware of just how far behind the times I really was

You will only get the popup once, per release. After which it should show in the status line.

It does not notify if only the third component of the version number is different from what you already have.

Indeed, I get enough complaints about how frequently calibre updates already. So for last digit releases which are only made to fix obscure bugs, withing a ew hours of a release, I dont send notifications. People that care about the obscure bugs will hopefully look for and find the fix themselves.

Very sensible. As I said above, it was not a complaint or a criticism, just a question out of (idle) curiosity. |
