Exclamation upgrade from 4.26 to 4.38

Hello, I would like to upgrade my Kobo Clara HD to the latest version from a patched version N: 4.26.16704 dated 10/02/2021. What method and precautions do you recommend without risking losing my data? Thanks in advance.

Plug your Kobo into the computer. No need for calibre to be running. Copy everything from the exposed partition to your computer.

Go to https://pgaskin.net/KoboStuff/kobofirmware.html and download the firmware ZIP file. UnZIP the contents to the .kobo directory on your Kobo. Eject your Kobo and it will update the firmware.

Keep the ZIP fille. Go to https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=366569 and download the path file for 4.38.23171. Then just patch your Kobo like you've done before.

That's it. Very easy.

I won't have any risk of losing everything since I'll be moving from a version that's 4 years old? I had a similar problem with my Kobo Glo. Thank you in advance for your response and confirmation.

That's why you have the backup. If you did need to go back, you could and then copy everything over as it was.

But you shouldn't have any problem going to the current firmware. I want from an older firmware to a newer firmware on my H2O and it worked.

Thank you so much I first manually upgraded to version 4.28.xx and then did an OTA update without losing anything. I will install the patch for more options and customization. Thanks again my brother.
