Metadata in Kobo? Language of books
Hi,
I can't "properly" define language of books for Kobo ereaders (latest firmware). All my books are described as "English" in "View Details" option. But all of them are Polish and Polish is defined as book's language in EPUB's metadata. It does not difference between EPUB and KEPUB (converted by Calibre).
Is there any chance to define/recognize Polish books for/by Kobo ereaders?

I just did a little test and made sure that a book was on the device as Polish. That was with language code "pl" in the database. This is showing as English in the book details. I also tried "ru" for Russian with the same effect.

This might be because Polish and Russian are not one of the languages supported in the UI, and hence the names aren't loaded anywhere. I don't know if this will mean the books are treated differently when reading. The only places I know the language is used are for the dictionary and the hyphenation. And the device doesn't have these for these languages.

Thank you for your help. I think you are 100% right.
I just try to use Polish hyphenation, and that's why I would like to recognize language properly. Unfortunately, Polish hyphenation rules which was installed by me, seems not to work. That's sad.

You could try KOReader, it supports polish language.

You might want to check the One-Click Install Packages for KOReader & Plato thread for more information on installing KOReader and/or Plato.
