I broke a piece, spare part needed

Hello everyone.

A couple of days ago I must have pulled the Kobo too hard from the pocket, as the rubber tab covering the ports and the sd slot is not attached anymore and nowhere to be found.

I would gladly be able to profit again from the waterproof function, is there any way I can replace the tab with either an original spare part or a third party one?

you could ask kobo if they have spare ones

or you could buy one with a broken display I guess

I wouldn't go anywhere near water with my H2O but then I know it's not waterproof because I cut a hole in the back

my mother has another one and it's not waterproof either - the front bezel lifted off in one corner when clipping it into its protective fintie case

basically this waterproof business is anything but trustworthy. avoid water or put it in a waterproof bag

You can get dust plugs for various port types but I don't know if they have any that work with water.

Even if these dust plugs worked with water, unfortunately, the H2O has a whole array of openings... there is the usb port, the microsd slot, reset button hole, and two more for the hatch latch itself to hook into. Without the original part, there's no way to make it waterproof again. (Even with the original part it's questionable... the thing is flexible and not easy to tell if properly closed)

a narrow strip of waterproof tape ( e.g. duct tape) will probably make an effective seal - just peel off as needed and replace when it loses stickyness
