Paginating thumbnails only view

Hi there,

Have calibre 3.9 server sharing a library of around 3,400 books over network. Browsing through that many books on one single web page is a burden on the clients.

Is there a way - other than going mobile template - to paginate thumbnails list of the books, something similar to the calibre 2.xx approach, but with thumbnails only?

The thubnail view is paginated and Preferences->Sharing over the net->advanced->Number of books to show in a single page

Thanks for the response.

That preference (default=50) is controlling how many thumbnails is loaded at once.
If "show more books" is clicked several times one will end up with a page that contains hundreds of thumbnails, which is a burden on a mobile client.

Is this how it was supposed to work, or I have something damaged in my settings?

In calibre 2 the 1st page would show books 1 to 25, next page 26 to 50, next page 51 to 75, and so on. There were options to go page up, down, etc.

I can assume that approach is not possible any more? Except in mobile view ... ?

yeah, the page will add more and more covers, not show you only a section of covers. I just tried this on my three year old android phone and it was able to display a page with ~ 1000 covers with no problem.
