Regular Expression Help for Importing ISBN
I have a number of books that have the following naming methodology or something similar to it: Romer D. Advanced Macroeconomics (MGH, 1996)(T)(ISBN 0070536678)(T)(550s) GK - Unknown. What RegEx code could be used to either 1) edit metadata in bulk by search in title and apply to identifier or 2) re-importing the books with the appropriate settings so that Calibre looks for the ISBN in the document title? Would the simplest solution be to rename all the files outside Calibre just to the ISBN, since I can do this quickly, and then re-import (I'm guessing the RegEx is less complicated for this)?
Thanks for any help or suggestions. |

One way is selecting books in the library ->Edit metadata in bulk
Search field: title Search for: (.*)ISBN\s([0-9,-]+)(.*) Replace with: \2 Destination field: identifiers Identifier type: isbn Search mode: Regular expression Attention: You can't reverse this action. Maybe good idea to have a backup in case... Test it first on some books and verify the results before you use it for mass changes An other way is to use an import template for adding books into the library. |
