Possible to preserve the date using Save to disk?

Hello,

Is it possible to preserve the date of the book while using the Save to disk? it looks like the Save to disk creates another copy so the date is changed

Assuming you mean file system dates, the answer is no.

When a book is saved it is not copied a'la a file manager copy. A new version is created with the embedded metadata updated and the name of the file will be changed using the Save to Disk template - so the modified and create (Windows) dates will be set to the current date and time.

Never hurts to ask, if you don't you'll die wondering...

However, I think that option refers the Date/timestamp column in the calibre database, not the file system dates. When a book is added that column is set to the current system date and time.
