The storage on the device has errors. You could do and see:
1)restart the device
2)(with Calibre shutdown o it does not try ang attach) Run Windows Check disk (right click on the device Icon in Explorer:Properties: Tools: Disk check (button)

I uninstalled Calibre 3.44 and reinstalled it and the problem still occurred.

I uninstalled 3.44 and installed 3.42 and everything seemed to be fine with 3.42.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks.

The error you are seeing usually indicates a problem on the device. Or, a problem with the device connection to the PC. There are no changes between calibre 3.42 and 3.44 that would affect how calibre accesses the Kobo devices. It is much more likely that you disconnected and reconnected the device or rebooted something in the mean time that solved the problem.

Scan and Repair detected no problems and afterwards the problem appears to have disappeared.
