How to bring series # to device

I put the question to this in Calibre Companion by mistake. I need to know how to make sure that the series # transfers to my device when I move books. It was my understanding that once I set it up this way, that is what would happen. It is not. I get the author and book but no #. I have entered the following in metadata plug boards: {series}{series_index:0>2s| #| - }

There must be something I'm missing. Hopefully, something simple. Please help. I have read so much in Calibre help and my head is spinning!

I'm not that good either, but my Metadata plugboards is working.

The screen shot is a bit small. Can a larger one be posted?

Your welcome and thanks for the larger size. Since you are attaching, you can attach larger size images than 600x600.
