Upgrading from aura hd mostly manga
So I currently have a kobo aura hd which I like for the most part. The only thing I do not care for is the the lack of contrast. Images appear more grey. I have a Kindle voyage and the same image is definitely black.

So I have an oasis 2 on pre-order but have been thinking hard about the aura one for it's larger screen size. My main concern is how the screen compares to then older aura hd which I don't like and the Kindle voyage which I do like very much. I'm happy with how my aura he works so I'm assuming it will just be faster/better on the aura one right? Don't care about Kindle auible function and extra memory is just a bonus.

Kobo Aura One has a very nice screen for manga. Both the Voyage and Aura One use E-Ink Carta screens, so if your happy with the greys/blacks on the Voyage you should be happy with them on the Aura One. All the firmware is more less identical among Kobos except for where features are specific to certain models like Comfortlight PRO.

The Voyage is 6" while the Aura One is 7.8". The larger screen is better for Manga.

When the first H2O was released I compared it to my Aura HD. The difference was larger than I was expecting.

I'm sure you will have a better experience regarding images on the Aura ONE than on the old Aura HD. Better screen and higher dpi. (But I'm sure the Oasis 2 is great as well.)

But I still love my Aura HD... still works very nicely....

One of my favorite wiki pages is the one for Screen sizes. It gives all the particulars including things like MP (mega pixels) and overall area of the screen (square inches) to provide numbers that are easier to compare although all of the detail is there as well.
