1. I have a Kindle Fire and have been using azw3 format. Sometimes, however, there will be like a quote or some other text, usually at the start of the chapter that is smaller and indented far to the right of the page. If I don't make my font insanely small, much to small to read for me, I don't see it. I usually use a large font because I'm legally blind, and all I get are a series of several blank screens until the regular text starts. Is there any setting i can change when converting that will stop this?
2. I have thought about going back to MOBi as this would also allow me to store my non amazon books in the the documents cloud, but I have over 2000 books and I don't have the hours it will take to convert them. Is there a faster way to go from AZW3 to mobi. 3. Sometimes when using MOBI, I get a hyphen at the bottom of the page and then, on the next page, there is a line or two of text that is missing. Any Ideas on how to fix this also. I like azw3 better because it doesn't do this, but the "fancy" page layouts it offers are problematic for me sometimes (see question 1). |

None of those issues is the fault of AZW3 by itself.
The book has code issues that probably need to be addressed via the editor. Conversion works best on clean (appearance) code The reason Mobi seems to work is because it is limited in what it could do and you lost that poorly coded feature during conversion. Basic HTML (what is inside an AZW3 and EPUB) is really not hard. Open the AZW3 with the Calibre editor, find the TEXT area that is giving you fits, then look at the CSS with the STYLES that were used there. Most attributes are pretty self explaining. Getting the best values is the hardest part. ![]() |
