Help, my husband screwed up my Kindle/Calibre connection

I just switched to a Kindle HD8 from my old Kindle HD7 and it was plugged into my computer to charge.

Well, my husband opened Calibre and it asked him whether he wanted to manage my fire . . . he answered NO. (I'll punish him later).

Now, I can't get Calibre to recognize my Fire.

I've re started both the fire and Calibre, I've even updated the calibre to the latest version.

I'm stumped. Frankly, if Calibre won't see my Kindle Fire HD8 then it's just a worthless piece of junk to me as all my books are on Calibre.

Please help. Is there a way I can get it to "see" my kindle fire.
P.S. I'm using Windows 10.

It has probably been added to the ignored devices. In the preferences, go to the "Ignored devices" section. The top list is the ignored devices. If it is there, remove the check and then press the apply button the bottom.

I should have replied earlier.
This worked. The device was, in fact, in the Ignored Devices. Once I unchecked it, then it appeared just fine.

Thank you very much.
