Tags are merged, not individually listed?
Hi All,
I'm configuring for my sister Moon+ Reader Pro on a Galaxy Tab S2. In Calibre, the tags on 30 MOBI books show up as separated by commas, Most of these books have several tags. ![]() When these books are moved to the device, and view "By Tags" is selected, the tags now show as one single group - but are now separated by semicolons? (see below image) Fiction; Literary; TIME's Best 30; Fiction / Literary I expected the tags to show up individually - one for Fiction, another for Literary, another for TIME's Best 30, etc. NOTE: I moved a dozen EPUB files with multiple tags separated by commas. Those tags DID show up individually in Moon+ Pro. You can see them below as Historical, History, Mystery. The MOBI format has no official support for tags. All tags are combined into a single sem-colon separated string placed in the EXTH 105 record. Moon+ should be reading that record and splitting on semi-colons.
Although why are you using MOBI at all? Convert to epub before sending. |

Hey Kovid,
I'm new to all this ebook stuff. I thought converting MOBI to other formats caused formatting issues...or loss of structure, or something like that. I will convert to epub. I'm waiting to hear back from Moon support on this too. BTW - Calibre was my first tool into ebooks. I found it amazing. It's the "Salesforce.com" of ebooks. Great job sir!! |

FWIW: our android app Calibre Companion uses calibre metadata directly so the format of the book doesn't matter. You can sort and group on all calibre metadata, including custom columns. CC works very well with moon+.
If you want to discuss CC start a thread in our dedicated CC forum. |
