GI Brides: Love Letters Unite Three Couples Divided by World War II by the late Grace Livingston Hill (Wikipedia) is an omnibus edition in the Love Endures series of classic inspirational f/m romance reprints, this volume containing three vintage standalone wartime novels written during the actual 1940s period, showcasing long-distance romances between women on the home front and soldiers serving abroad, free courtesy of Christian publisher Barbour.

Currently free @ B&N & Amazon & Kobo (none available to Canadians), and ChristianBook (DRM-free ePub hypothetically available to selected countries, if they get around to allowing downloads of the freebies again). May also already be/become free at Google Play for the US, where Barbour freebies also often show up, but are invisible from a Canadian perspective.

ETA: if you happen to like these and wish to read more, a number of her older works are public domain over at Project Gutenberg (and the author herself will be Life+70 next year), and Wikipedia says that she often incorporated an important romance into the story.
