Writing file names from tags
Good day,
is there a way to write information extracted from the data of a book to the actual file name*? As much as I love the management of my library with Calibre, I cant seem to figure this out. For example, say the metadata of an ePub book has the following information: <author><title><year_published><edition><ISBN> Can I have Calibre change rename the actual file name say in the order bellow (which will be the file name): Quote:

Yes - if you're referring to the files you save to disk No - if you're referring to the files within the library You use templates for the first two, there are some relevant sticky threads at the top of this sub forum, so have a look at them. Also read the Tutorial on Templates in the User Manual. There's also a sticky at the top of this sub forum relating to the library folder and file names and why they cannot be changed. BR |
