Original KoboGlo Battery??

I have searched these forums for any information pertaining to a replacement battery for the Kobo Glo (N613) with little of any help.

I found the info below but all of the searches on Ebay, Amazon come up blank for a battery for this device.

MANY thanks for your reply. Can you confirm that you installed this battery in the
original Kobo Glo?? I checked the link you provided and the measurements for that battery are longer, wider, thicker than the original? It has also almost double the capacity too which is ok if it fits. Was there a compatible connector on this battery as it appears the black wire was just bare suggesting you had to solder or use the plug from the original battery?

Thanks for any additional info.

Yes it fitted in the original GLO and yes I had to cut the connector from the old battery and solder it to the new battery wires. Unfortunately it helped (as the battery was new and of larger capacity) but not solved my unusual battery drain on this kobo. I suspect a bad ibternal sdcard or a firmware regression. I gave up shortly later and bought a koboGloHD, and now a Onyx Boox C67ML.

Here is a site with some good info on ebook readers, on replacement parts for them: screens and batteries. I have not yet tried it (my order is on its way to me) but it seems to be a good battery for glo.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. Finally I have info & options for replacing
a battery for the Glo. It just seems a shame to toss them for the sake of a simple battery.

the easy solution would be to have a replaceable battery but sadly greed prevents this, obviously because the e-reader manufacturers want you to buy a new device.

You are overlooking items like making the case have a battery door, the limited size of the device, the ensuring that the battery has an easy remove connector.

Its more than just greed.

Also i think there are differences in how devices with and without removable batteries can be shipped.
