Request: generating cover if it is not avaiable
Hi,

If I export from calibre only the file with the metadata file (e.g. epub + opf) and that I import them in another calibre, then I get no cover.

Wouldn't it make sense to generate a cover from the epub/pdf file if the cover set in the opf file isn't available during the importation?

Why are you not exporting the cover? Wouldn't it make sense to export the cover, if you intend to import again?

Then after importing using the bulk metadata edit dialog to read the covers from the ebook files.

As I am adding the books with "calibredb add". Is there any way to generate covers for ebooks that don't have one from the command line?

I have checked the documentation, but I couldn't find anything on that.
