Kindle WiFi - Sideloaded docs appear only under "Downloaded"
In my kindle WiFi, books/docs are listed in the home screen according to selected options. On the left you select between "All" and "Downloaded". On the right you select between All, Docs, Books, etc.
I find that sideloaded items (via USB either from windows or via Caliber) are not shown under the "All" option on the left, but are shown under "Downloaded". That is rather funny, since (a) All should mean the superset of all modes and (b) downloaded should mean via network/sync rather that pushed thru manually. It took me an hour to realize this fact, and I was tearing my hair looking for the sideloaded docs under "all". What is the logic around this? Do all models / versions behave like this? |

Back in the day, the two options used to be "Cloud / Device".
But apparently Amazon decided it was too confusing to people who only buy from Amazon, so they switched it to "All / Downloaded" a few firmware revisions ago. (Maybe around the 5.6.0 update? I forget the exact version.) ... The fact that you realized what was going on at all, rather than posting frantically here asking where your books went to, puts you towards the front of the pack. ![]() |

"All" means "All the items in your Cloud library".
"Downloaded" means "Items that have been downloaded to your device". |
