Hey guys.
PW1 seems to become bricked after being connected to MacBook to place a file into documents and disconnected. At first device refused to open any book, lost it's wi-fi MAC address (see attached image) and after being rebooted it stucked on the kindle bootscreen (with a tree) and now is bricked ![]() It doesn't appear as a device on a mac or a winxp. But if the battery is totally drained (when device shows that the battery needs to be charged) device appears as a kindle drive which system unfortunately cannot access. As I see there is a thread here to unbrick older generations of Kindle is there something applicable for PW1? Is there any possibility to unbrick the device? I understand that it's quite old but anyway it bricked just after being connected to computer ![]() Last edited by NiLuJe; 06-13-2016 at 09:27 PM. Reason: Hid the full S/N -- NiLuJe |

First off:
Plug the kindle into a wall socket for 72 hours. Do not touch it or do anything else. After the 72 hours unplug it and hold the power button for 40 seconds. If it does not reboot, come back here with the first six digits of the serial number and the exact steps you did on the computer. |

Sorry for not mentioning before, I left it on a wall charger. It charged until the led turned green - stayed for about 1 day. I did try holding power button up to 1 minute. Device screen just flashes and then stucks on Kindle boot screen again. The serial number is clearly visible on image attached - first six digits are B024 16 My MacBook doesn't react on device being connected. But if the battery is completely drained the Parallels mounts kindle device on XP - it "finds" device drive but is unable to open it (corrupted?) Last edited by levanid; 06-13-2016 at 05:27 PM. |

In that case, please wait patiently for someone that knows more than me.
Also let me grab a mod so the entire serial number is not visible. |
