Overdrive library wish list order changed?

Has your Overdrive library wish list order changed?

As long as I have been using Overdrive, my wishlist has always displayed with the most recently added items first. Although I have wished for other sort options (such as by author or by title), at least I knew what I was getting with having the newest ones on the first page. If I added a bunch of books by the same author on the same day, I knew they would show up together on the wishlist.

I just logged on tonight and there seems to be no order whatsoever - books I added to my wish list yesterday are jumbled with books added months ago. They don't appear to be in order by author or title or anything else I can figure out.

I sometime think Overdrive employs someone for the specific purpose of "fixing" things that aren't broken!

How incredibly sad is it that even so this is the best way to checkout ebooks from the library?

I guess they know we're stuck using them so they don't care if we're happy.

Same here, and it was just yesterday.

Same here, grrr. I tend to add things to it in groups (book club nominees all at once for example) and this will make it much harder to go and clean it out when the selection is made.

Simple really. Find what you want, duplicate the tab, make your selection, go to the other tab and remove the book(s). Very easy workaround.

I too can confirm the order of the wishlist is now been randomized.

It seems odd that they would completely randomize the list...is it possible that they are sorting on ISBN, or on some Overdrive ID number?

It's the "find what you want" part that's no longer simple, with the books scattered throughout however many pages of wishlist you have, instead of the books being grouped together as you added them.

Which practically speaking IS randomized.
Just hopefully not in a different order each time.

Well no...if they're sorting on ISBN, then it is not randomized. If you know the ISBN (which is easily findable) then you can find the book in your list. They could also be sorting by Release date. When I look at a book at Overdrive I see this:

EPUB eBook
File size: 939 KB
ISBN: 9780698197008
Release date: Apr 12, 2016

All I'm saying is that just because they're not sorted by Author, Title, or date added to wishlist doesn't mean that the sort is random.

It would take narly as long to find the book by ISBN order as it would to simply eyeball every list item.

It's not random but it appears random because who really knows what the ISBN is off the top of their head? That information isn't available unless you scroll down (several screens in some cases) and then click another area to un-hide it. Sorting on something that is not visible or intuitive is a poor decision on ODs part if this was intentional and poor QC if it wasn't. Neither of which reflects well on them.

Edit: I just checked the first 5 titles in my list and they are not sorted by (listed) ISBN, release date, original publication date, number of copies, availability, formats available, publisher, date it was made available to Overdrive, or file size; they might be sorting by something else but whatever it is is not visible to me so might as well be random.
