Ibooks notes exactly as OSX El capitan

I m ESL (english language student) . I think I´ve got a good way to learn using Ibooks OSX (el capitan) inserting notes inside the english words that I need to learn. But..... I would like this same performace with ipad or windows 8.1 (I have a surfacepro too).

I exactly want that notes must appear in the left side of the textbook, not in another screen like Ipad. So .... the question it´s there any chance to use another program in windows 8.1 to do this, because Ibooks from ipad and macbook are clearly different in this point.

I dont know if I could do something similar with calibre or others.
I m using epub no drm
