File name with unicode accents

Dear Chaley,

Calibre removes all unicode accents from title and author name before applying them to filename.

However, the books downloaded by CC have all the accents.

In Calibre Companion, it is: Tên sách - Tác Giả, while Calibre itself sets it as Ten sach - Tac Gia. CalibreBox downloaded files with names set as the latter, too. How can I achieve the same in CC?

Why is this a problem?

CC uses the metadata that is in calibre's database. It makes no attempt to clean it other than to remove illegal characters. There isn't any way to avoid this without some programming effort on my part. In any event I am not convinced that what you are asking for is generally desired by the user community.
