Block Kindle update from router

Hi guys
I want to block amazon autoupdate my kindle PW from my router, I want to block ports and IPs from de router firewall, somebodie know what ports use amazon for update to new firmware?

See the Block Big Brother hack -- it is a firewall which runs on the Kindle itself, to completely wall off Amazon from your Kindle.

It should have the full range of Amazon IP addresses somewhere.

If you block all Amazon IPs, you won't be able to order anything, including ebooks. Bad idea.

It is three years old, but probably still useful.
IP-4 networks don't change very often, now that all addresses are sold.

Yes, there is a script for a router here somewhere, maybe even in that BBB thread.
I have looked, but haven't (yet) found it.

Some people are glad to exchange access to a vendor lock-in store for a bit more privacy.

And yes, you can "sync to a cloud" - just not Amazon's.

Sometime around the same time (3 years ago) we posted the Kindle-to-Cloud scripting using s3cmd.

And anyway, it shouldn't be too terribly hard to whitelist a couple of IP addresses for Amazon services you *do* want (like perhaps http://amazon.com).
