Sending books to Kindle, page count, own calculation method in the custom column

Hello.

I would like to calculate the number of pages while sending books to my Kindle using my own method. The method is simple, for me it is the number of pages retrieved by Calibre "accurate" method multiplied by 1.4 . Calibre offers the following solution:

Quote:
Custom column name to retrieve calculation method from
If you have a custom column in your library that you use to store the preferred method for calculating the number of pages for a book, you can have calibre use that method instead of the default one selected above. Specify the name of the custom column here, for example, #pagemethod. The custom column should have the values: fast, accurate or pagebreak.
My question is: what syntax should I use to type this simple formula in my custom column? I tried "#accurate*1.4", "=#accurate*1.4", and some other variants. They did not work. I will appreciate your help.

@Moskau123 - you need to use the multiply function in template program mode - I think

Thank you, but what exactly should I put to this column?
multiply(accurate, 2) and multiply(#accurate, 2) do not work.

I think you are misinterpreting the plugins documentation. I think what it is saying is that you can select one of the three predefined methods that the plugin supports, and that is done by creating a custom column such as #pagemethod, and then for books you want to use a different method place the value fast, accurate or pagebreak in that column.

The custom method does not let you modify the formula used, just select which one to use.

What you probably need to do is to define a new custom column that is a computed column based on other columns, and set its value to 1.4 * #column_where_page_count_has_been_stored.

When I sit down at my PC I'll try to give more precise instructions.

Ah; sorry I now see that you're using the Kindle driver to generate and transfer the page count. I don't think there is anything you can do to "adjust" the page count by a 1.4 factor.
