Error merging libraries

Hello,
I was merging (select all, copy to) a Calibre library of about 17000 books with another of about 5000 books and I get this error:
calibre, version 2.48.0
ERRORE: Non riuscito: Impossibile copiare i libri: SQLError: no such savepoint: _apsw-0

What this mean?
I solved the problem by copying books at 1000 each time.

It means sqlite ran out of resources processing a single very large transaction. AS you discovered best to do very large jobs in batches.
