Remove FreeTime app after downgrade to 5.4.0

Just did a serial port downgrade from 5.6.5 to 5.4.0 using ixtabs images (Done this x 3 kindles now - I'm learning to solder better). How do I get rid of the freetime app that didn't exist before 5.4.2. I can get to console via ssh if I need to.

Thanks for your help. You guys (knc1, eschwartz, ixtab, nijluje, and more) and the mobileread community have been awesome. Its amazing what a pain Amazon has made it to just to sort collections like I used to on my Kindle 3. Kindles have gotten better screens and lighting and worse end-user functionality with every release.

Cheers!

The 3x devices you did this to must have been the original PW-2 (2Gbyte) devices.
Since 5.4.0 will not run on the newer PW-2 (4Gbyte) devices.

If you replaced the entire image with an image of 5.4.0 -
And this 'free time' thing did not exist before 5.4.2 -
Then how could it still be on the device?

Is it not part of the Amazon image?
Is it an after-market add-in that you added?

Yes these are PW2 2Gbyte devices. I think this stored in the /mnt/us partition but I can't figure out where (probably the "system" directory). When I have sort by collection selected it doesn't show up so I think I can live with it being on there I guess.

Do you think if I did a refresh it would sort all this out?

Your best bet is probably to wipe the various catalog DBs in /var/local (notably /var/local/cc.db) and hope for the best (you'll lose collections).

The database schema is incompatible anyway, and that's only bound to cause issues down the line.

If you're lazy, a factory reset will do that for you .

Factory reset worked (I'm lazy.). Probably this should be done anytime you are downgrading I'm guessing.
