The Best of C. L. Moore is a collection of the late science fiction & fantasy pioneer author Catherine "C. L." Moore's (ISFDB, Wikipedia) works, with an introduction by the late Lester Del Rey (ISFDB, Wikipedia), containing many of her groundbreaking stories, free courtesy of publisher Diversion Books, who are e-printing it from its apparent 1975 Nelson Doubleday edition.

This placed highly in the Locus Award list for Best Single Author Collection at the time.

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK) & iTunes (available to Canadians and most worldwide regions, as Diversion freebies often are).

If you happen to enjoy the stories in this and wish to read more, apparently Diversion Books is starting to reprint a number of her older works as well, some of which are not covered under the US public domain's weird non-explicit renewal copyright laws that sometimes make a few of the Golden Age pulp stories free, and if outside the US, you can purchase them legally for a reasonable price, browsable @ author/publisher listing search (couponable @ Kobo).

Because not only is it awesometastic to receive a very nifty freebie containing some of the best classic stories of a major renowned sfnal author, she's also one whom I've been meaning to try more of, having only heard a few BBC radio readings/adaptations of her shorts.
