Editor : wrong translation (french)
(Is there an appropriate place to report such things ?)
Editor > Preferences > Propriétés de l'éditeur : "Largeur des onglets" should be something like "Largeur des tabulations" ![]() I guess the term in english is "Tabs width" ? Hence the confusion with this :

You can simply correct the translations yourself -- contribution to calibre translations is open to all, see
http://calibre-ebook.com/get-involved That string is "Width of &tabs:" in English and refers to how many spaces a tab character occupies when rendered in the editor code view |

Quote:
I don't disagree that a CAP on the Window-Tab width (max-width) would be useful as it assumes the size of the filename which can be absurdly long in some cases. |
