I have just installed Calibre 2.30 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I think something has changed in the functionality of Calibre in selecting books with SHIFT and the Home/End keys. I'm fairly positive that it used to be possible to select multiple books by holding the SHIFT key and pressing Home or End. Now all it does is going to the left or right horizontal end of the line, it does not move and select books up to the top or the end of the list. Ctrl, SHIFT + Home doesn't do it either, just the top line becomes selected, like when you just press Ctrl.
As I see it now, there is no way to select all the books from a certain line to the top or the end with just one keystroke combination. Is there a way to get the old keyboard shortcuts back? This functionality was extremely useful and I need it very often. |

There have been no changes to keyboard handling in 2.30.
IIRC, Home and End have always gone to the start and end of the current line and Ctrl+Home/End to the start and end of the book list. If not always, then certainly for a very long time. As for Shift+Ctrl+Home/End I dont know if they ever worked. |

@LucyOne - what version of calibre were you using before you installed version 2.30.
As Kovid wrote ". . .start and end of the book list. If not always, then certainly for a very long time." I recall Kovid did do some tidying up in this regard... 2-3 years ago. I use the keyboard more than most, so I'm also more sensitive to any changes than most. In this regard I've not noticed any. Shift+Page up/down will select all books above and below current book respectively. What would you have Shift+Ctrl+Home/End do? If your new computer has a new keyboard that could also confound you. I often get caught out on other peoples keyboards which don't have keys where I'm habituated to having them. BR |
