Calibre freezes when preparing bulk conversion

So I have been trying to convert my 8000 books from OPF format to EPUB, but everytime after they get queued for conversion Calibre goes unresponsive.

Is there a easier way to do this bulk conversion? Why does it keep freezing? Is it to many books at once to convert?

Side note: everytime I re-try converting them it continues to keep taking up space on my C: drive. I have moved my calibre folder to try and prevent this, but it still continues to take up space.

OPF is not a format

OFF is the books control/structure/metadata (or a Calibre metadata backup (metadata.opf) file

@like00111 - no, you must add the MOBI files to the library via one of the Add Books variants.

Leave the OPF (Open Packaging Format) files alone, they backup the library database (metadata.db); should it get corrupted they are used in restoring the database.

Have you taken the opportunity of viewing the Tutorial Videos, IMO they are the best way to get to grips with calibre - watch a section, pause, do what it covered, do a few variants, watch next section, pause...

So I readded the MOBI format after deleting all the ODF from calibre, but now it is saying:

calibre, version 2.29.0
WARNING: Could not convert:
Could not convert Talking God as it has no ebook files. If you think it should have files, but calibre is not finding them, that is most likely because you moved the book's files around outside of calibre. You will need to find those files and re-add them to calibre.

I did try moving calibre from C: drive to a different drive, could that be the cause?

@like00111 - I suggest you start again - from the beginning, after watching the video.

If you want to use the calibre ebook library manager then stay out of the library folders and let the software do the job for which it was designed.

If you want to manage the ebook format files directly via your file manager then use the calibre - Command Line Interface

You can convert a .mobi file to an .epub file with the ebook-convert command.

Okay I think I have it now. Just reinstalled and deleted everything out of calibre. Now I just found an option I never saw, a option for calibre to scan my folder where all my books are and add them that way.

So it seems as if some books that got added by the automatic function did not come with a format, such as saying:

calibre, version 2.29.0
ERROR: Cannot view: Star Wars: The Han Solo Trilogy 1: The Paradise Snare has no available formats.

But other books got added just fine. Any reason why this would happen?

EDIT: Hmmmm actually seems that I got duplicates, half that didn't come with a format and the other that did. Weird. Any way to get rid of the bad half that has no format?
