Can't open side loaded mobi file on kndle

Since some months new files converted from epub to mobi with calibre and either side loaded with usb or sent with calibre to my kindle can't be opened on my kindle. An error pops up with a message that this file can't be opened and should be downloaded from amazon cloud if purchased through amazon. I can open and read the file without any problem with calibre reader, the kindle app on my PC and om my Ipad.
It worked without any issues with many books converted from epub last fall and those files can still be opened.
Anyone has the same experience and has found a solution?

I have seen this problem reported several times lately, and converting to AZW3 has worked for all those people.

Perhaps Amazon has decided to sneakily force people to switch from MOBI to AZW3!

Thanks. Azw3 files work without problems. Another thread recommends to reset the kindle pw as a bad .mobi file may not allow the kindle indexer to work. As I have to many working mobi files on my device I will stay with the mix of old mobi and new azw3. After reset one has to reinstall all files again.

That may be the case. On the other hand I expect an indexer crash to make books not show up at all. Having them show up but error like that is a new one for me.
