Coming to the Party Late with my Kindle PW2!!

So, i'm an eJunkie.... sold my Kindle Keyboard 3G, rarely used it.... used my iPad mini for reading. Still have my KFHD; never use it for reading but its great for movies. i ordered a regular Kindle some months back and the screen was terribly fuzzy. Not sure if it was a bad device or if i was used to reading on my tablets. i returned it the next day. So, i logged into Amazon Saturday night and was offered to purchase a device with 5 payments... i ordered the PW2 Saturday night, had it in my hand Monday afternoon (Way to go, Amazon!!). And i have to say i love it!! it feels great in my hand! fonts are crisp! during the day i turned the light completely off and it was great! i'm really loving my new PW2!

My husband loves his pw2. I just caught him downloading an ebook from our calibre web library - I've been hooking the old sony to the computer to transfer books so this was a big upgrade for him. The $15 fintie case has also made it a great purchase.

Congrats. But the frontlight doesn't turn off completely on the Paperwhite. Not without jailbreaking it.

It turns off to the point where it cannot be seen, except when it is really dark. But the lights are still drawing power.

Congrats on the PW2. I just got mine on Friday and I love it as well. I bought a Moko case for mine. It costs $10.95 and it's nice and sturdy. I love that it puts my Kindle to sleep and wakes it up by flipping the cover.

*Page turn problems.*
If i go to the previous page to review something, And then foward to continue where I've stopped, it goes forward several pages. Then if i try to go back, its goes back several pages and now I've lost my place! Can someone assist me with this? Thank u!

I recently had a forced upgrade from a paper white 1 to a paper white 2, my one was acting odder and odder as time went on and it finally got to the point that it would not move pages any longer. I would frequently do a re-boot, however that only worked to a point so I finally took the upgrade to the model two. I do like the two as posters before me have said on this thread, its much faster than the model one was and most surprising to me was the fact that I do not need to unlock the device in order to get to my book, the swipe from side to side. Took me a little while to get used to that.

I am also a kindle unlimited (KU) member as I have been a rather voracious reader since I first learn to read since my pre-school days. I have this nasty habit of finding a library, reading every thing they have and then go off looking for more. No library has been able to keep me in books for very long and when I bought my books from amazon's general store my habit cost me an arm and a leg each month. KU has allowed me to keep a lid on the book costs. When I get a book out of the KU library I look at the cost of that book and keep a running total of the costs each month. So far in February my total is around $90, last month it was $130, thus I can say that I am getting my dollars worth out of the KU program.
