Thumbs up Free (DRM-free PDF) A Vegan Survival Guide for the Holidays [Specialty Diet Cookbook]

A Vegan Survival Guide for the Holidays by Jerry James Stone & Ed Begley, Jr. is a cookbook full of recipes and tips for Exactly What It Says In The Title, free courtesy of their Cooking Stoned website.

Words cannot express my disappointment at finding out that the website's name derived from one of the founders' surnames, rather than being in the spirit of the now-defunct "Cooking With Booze" website, which also used to have a free online cookbook chock-full of Exactly What It Said In The Title.

In any case, this is a rather nice and colourful (1-page layout optimized for tablets and larger screens) collection of tasty-looking, easy to make recipes which, if not vegan yourself or experimenting with, could make a useful addition to your holiday table for the non-meat-eaters in your circle.

Currently free as a holiday giveaway in exchange for your email address as a DRM-free PDF (approx 7 MB) available worldwide @ the Cooking Stoned website's promo page (requires signing up for and confirming a newsletter subscription, then you get a link to download the cookbook as your first message from them, they say there might be a 15 min or so delay in the automated system).

Hat tip to the TreeHugger website for leading me to this.

I should probably note that some of the language used in the cookbook may not be suitable for the more sensitive Gentle Readers in the audience. The blurb below can be considered a reasonable representation of the amount of swearing they use, if that's something that really matters to you.

And this has been the selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.

Enjoy!

Description
Welcome to your survival guide for the holiday season!

Hmm… where have you heard that before? Probably our last cookbook, Holidazed: A Cocktail Cookbook for Getting Lit on Christmas.

But unlike that last one, this cookbook is absolutely free! Free, and loaded with so much vegan food porn, you’re gonna wet yourself. Whether it’s the Roasted Brussels Sprout Mac ’n Cheese or my No-Bake Pumpkin Crème Brûlée, the holidays just got pwned.

Don’t take my word for it. You can see for yourself by simply downloading the book. Just click the button below to begin. You’ll be prompted to subscribe to the Cooking Stoned newsletter; we’ll email your copy of A Vegan Survival Guide for the Holidays once your subscription is complete. This can take up to 15 minutes. Don’t worry, we’ll never share your email address with anyone!

Within the electronic pages of A Vegan Survival Guide for the Holidays, you’ll find the following:
  • Festive and seasonal cocktail recipes.
  • Exclusive content from Holidazed.
  • Yummy starters, like my Roasted Beet Hummus.
  • A plethora of side dishes, such as my Bourbon Glazed Carrots.
  • Decadent desserts.
  • Infographics for easier cooking.
  • A charming foreword by my friend Ed Begley, Jr.
As a vegetarian of 25 years, I know just how challenging holiday meals can be. Actually, any community meal, really. Which is why we are here.

It’s one of the reasons I started the Cooking Stoned. I wanted to showcase that vegetarian cuisine could be interesting, gourmet, and mouthwatering. The same goes for veganism. But more often than not, vegan food blogs are so “political” that what makes good food good is actually overlooked. Be honest, we’ve all seen them. It’s granola-y, boring, and sad. Really sad. They make the DMV look like the happiest place on earth.

But we know vegan cuisine is anything but. At its core, it celebrates earth’s bounty and a harmony with nature, which is a beautiful thing. So there’s no excuse for those extra helpings of sadness.

Please join me in celebrating the season with planet-friendly, cruelty-free eating that is clean, gorgeous, and damn tasty. Trust me. By the end of this cookbook, you’ll have either licked your screen a few times or need to change your knickers. Because I’m about to throw down some serious food porn, bitches!

I am apparently one of those Gentle Readers. It's not the language per se that I find annoying, it's the gratuitous crudity of including it in a holiday cookbook.
