Is it possible to reference fonts with KF8?

Is it possible to use an external font referenced with @font-face with KF8? So if I create a directory called font or fonts, can I use any of the fonts in that directory without having to actually embed them (STOCK FIRMWARE ONLY, NO JAILBREAKS ALLOWED)?

Requires a jailbreak. So that's not going to do at all. It has to work with stock firmware.

That is a non-answer.

Given the lack of an answer, I'd say the answer is no, it cannot be done.

There is a solution: Obtain Kindle Keyboard or Kindle 4, they accept K8.

interesting question - don't know if it was tried already
here is an old thread for epub and the Sony reader
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30512
with the thing I think you want to achieve

so - it's valid css to reference external fonts on your local file system
but I don't know how it is handled by the KF8 reader (will it be like a publisher font, can font changes still be made with the Aa menu etc)

perhaps you can ask in the Dev forum for a correct path to the user space on the Kindle and run some tests on your rig - please tell us the results

merry xmas

Just keep track of this thread in case it is possible and someone says how. Most versions of ADE (on a Reader) do support using external fonts. But I've never seen such a way to do this for KF8.
