Page Scrolling Bug, (E-bookreader) Linux
Happens all the time, often when one clicks onto a different window and than back the e-bookreader, it auto scrolls the text back up some couple paragraphs or page. Extremely annoying!
Can't seem to find any preference to control it, and will definitely un-install if I can't resolve this. Edit: I Can replicate it consistently by clicking on the e-bookreader page (location doesn't matter) and than mouse wheel scrolling down. Last edited by dejy; 10-20-2014 at 03:37 PM. |

I am unable to duplicate this bug on my ArchLinux PC.
Are you using the latest version, or the one your distro supplies? |

I don't have problems with any kind of scrolling other than e-book-viewer, I guess it could be some very strange interaction between synclient/xorg/e-bookviewer that is specific to it. Not sure how to track it down short of stepping through it with a debugger though. |

I would vote for weird interactions. Unless someone else can reproduce this bug... Are you doing anything out of the ordinary with your setup?
(P.S. What "arch-linux ppa"?? Arch linux doesn't use PPAs.) |

A have this bug on my Debian testing too. This bug appeared after updating calibre package from debian repository (from v2.4 to v2.5), but it also affects the latest version (2.10)

Use the official Calibre version. BTW the viewer has a 'Scroll/Paged" icon to select the mode |

![]() There are usually a squillion bugfixes since then, and besides one never tests bugs on outdated versions of the software. I am pretty sure I have seen support for distro bugs on rolling-release/source-based distros (as in, up to date versions). |

Being severely out of date is one reason, theducks is also correct. I'm not a Linux user so my terminology may not be close to accurate, but the problems in the past have often been because the folks creating the distro have altered or tampered with calibre's dependencies to suit the OS or desktop.

This is definitely caused by something weird on your systems. I haven't the foggiest idea what. If I had to guess, I'd guess that you have enabled support for mouse gestures and your desktop environment is interpreting the mouse movements as the back gesture and sending the equivalent keyboard shortcut to the viewer.
